Why Choose the University of Adelaide

The University of Adelaide is the only institution in South Australia offering a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering. The degree is fully accredited by the Institution of Engineers, Australia, the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK, and the RACI.

Opportunities exist for selected students to undertake combined BE/LLB, BE/BA, BE/BSc BE/BEc, BE/BFin and BE/BMaSc programs. For the BE Degree, students can choose between three distinct degree streams which allow them to gain specialised knowledge in specific industries:

  • Energy and Environment
  • Food, Wine and Biomolecular
  • Product and Process Engineering

From 2007 there will be a new degree offered in Pharmaceutical Engineering.

The Department of Chemical Engineering has well-equipped teaching and research laboratories and excellent computing facilities.

Currently there are about 224 undergraduate students, with more than 30% being female students, and 20 postgraduate (MEngSc, PhD) students.

At Adelaide, you'll receive an education acknowledged as one of the best in Australia for producing well educated, capable engineers with the right mix of theoretical and practical skills.
