Location: Room N242 Engineering North SupervisorsAssociate Professor Brian O'Neill, School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide Research TopicEvaluation of Integrated Membranes for T & O and Algal Toxin Control Research AbstractAs membrane technology improves, and becomes more cost effective and atractive to water authorities, and simultaneously consumers and regulators demand higher quality water, membrane use will inevitably expand in the international water industry. While taste and odour compounds and toxins produced by cyanobacteria may not be driving the application of membrane technology, they are important issues. This project will assess the application of UF, NF and RO membranes, used in conjunction with coagulation, PAC or MF membranes, for the removal cyanobacteria cells and algal metabolites (AMs). |
